The Bynoe's Gecko is covered by small pyramid-shaped scales on its back. It is one of the most common and widespread, small ground-dwelling geckos which inhabit the tropics, deserts and temperate forests and plains. It is commonly found by day sheltering under iron or timber and at night it emerges to forage for small soft-bodied insects and arachnids.
