Mulga Parrots forage for their food on the ground, eating mainly seeds. When disturbed at feeding or drinking, they take refuge in the upper branches of the nearby trees until the danger has passed. At other times flight is close to the ground and swift with an undulating motion. They are quiet, unobtrusive birds that blend well with the silvery-green foliage found in their arid woodland habitat. Distribution of the Mulga Parrot in Australia. | |
